The San Diego Chargers revealed a pair of new logos Friday morning on their website, officially putting an end to the era of the Bolts, and launching the era of the Volts. The new logos, which will be used during all 20 of the team’s preseason and regular season games, are the team’s attempt to modernize and draw in younger demographics.
The team also announced that it will be ditching its traditional blue and gold uniforms for a new white-on-white color scheme.
“Young people just don’t identify with meteorological phenomena,” said Chargers Director of Public Relations Corey Compton. “We want the new generation of fans to see us on the field and say, ‘that’s a team we’d like to insert into our phones.’ ”
